The STD Infection Rate is Dropping But Testing Remains Essential

The good news for those living in the United States is that the rate of STD transmission is dropping, but the bad news is that these infections are still far more prevalent than they have any reason to be. Part of this is due to the fact that entertainers and the media can broadcast the messages about getting an STD test Chicago citizens know they need, but until those people living in that city actually do what it takes they will have these infections festering in the general population. This is the case with any city in the world, not just those in the US. The battle always has to take place at the individual level. Since most of us will have trouble making sure that every single encounter we have is fully protected, it is a very wise idea to take a routine course of testing to make sure that we are not passing on something that can be truly dangerous to those that we are involved with. Today testing is so inexpensive, easy and quick that it only makes sense to take this approach.

The facts remain that there are lower rates of gonorrhea infection than there have been in the past, but this is not at all the case for chlamydia which has seen a surge over the last decade according to the stats from the US Center for Disease control. To get an STD test Houston residents only need to check for a service in their area, but here again is an example of where the options are available and people are not taking them. If people understood the long term effects of this sort of infection they would likely be far more cautious, but many choose to ignore the symptoms as well as the health risks. There is no reason to do this when it is such a simple process to get the test that offers genuine peace of mind.
